Colors & Clothing
It's simple….your face should be the focus of the photograph, not
your clothes. If your clothing is not simple and plain it probably
will detract from the photograph.
With darker backgrounds, darker colored clothing photographs best
and allows you to be the center of attention. Lighter colored
clothing on a darker background will make you appear pale, washed
out, and also draws the eye away from your face.
Lighter backgrounds and the beach have their own set of rules and
light colored clothing generally is the answer. White shirts and
jeans work well but we have found that white shirts with beige pants
is even better. Keep your clothing choices within the light tones
and pastels and you will shine.
The easy rule with group portraits is to have everyone dressed in a
simple and similar fashion.
